Seven Science Backed Ways to Build Team Trust in Times of Change

Gallup’s most recent global engagement figures show that only about one in five employees feels engaged at work. Low trust is a key driver behind that number. When people do not trust their leaders or their colleagues, they disconnect. The good news is that trust is not a mystery or a personality trait. It is a skill that can be strengthened.

The following seven research backed models offer leaders practical, usable strategies that work in the real world.

MEADE ON THE MOVE

The past month I’ve enjoyed some spectacular stages closer to home, with a touch of international travel:

  • 🇬🇧 Bespoke Keynote for Travel Counsellors in Liverpool, U.K.

  • 🇮🇪 Team-building with Clancy Construction in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland

  • 🇮🇪 Showcasing with MPI in Co. Kildare, Ireland

  • 🎤  Virtual Hosting with Prizeout in Chicago

  • 🎤  Virtual Keynote deliver for Kainos, with people dialling in from Argentina, Indianapolis and Toronto

  • 🇺🇸 Client prep meetings in Philadelphia, US

Can you guess where the festive season will take me? Ho, ho, ho!

The best leaders don’t have the loudest voices. They make other voices feel louder. Watch to learn how you can invite others to embrace change.

THIS CAUGHT MY EYE

I saw a short video this week about a solar farm in the Gobi Desert, a sandy region that had been lifeless and desolate for millennia.

The panels overheated, so engineers used cooling water, and that simple fix transformed a barren landscape into thriving greenery within three years. It is a powerful reminder for leaders that people are rarely beyond help. With the right inputs and the right environment, performance can grow in the most surprising places. Give the video a watch.
